MINDFUL MUSIC RETREAT

{ Freedom of Expression }

28th to 30th August

A safe space where you can deepen your connection with yourself and others.

The Weekend Intensive is the perfect frame to experience our work profoundly…

..and explore what it means to be a musician. Organised in a beautiful peaceful retreat space, we are meeting for 3 days, to explore the topic of freedom of expression, with ourselves and our instruments.

As in all our events it is essential for us to create a safe space together, where we can connect to ourselves and each other.

By pausing and resting from the ever-present pressure and stress of our everyday-life, we are able to access deeper creativity and connection.

The goal of Mindful Music Making is to create a safe space, where musicians are invited to sink deeper into connection with themselves and each other. We use tools like mindfulness and embodiment practices, exercises to explore and access our inner truth and empowerment that comes from connecting with our hearts and our bodies.

We are very lucky to welcome the wonderful cellist Matthew Barley, who has been performing, creating unique projects and giving workshops on improvisation al all over the world for many years, to design this new exciting workshop with us.

The journey does not end with the completion of the workshops and retreats. We are creating a thriving community with ongoing support and connection.

This time we will be hosting the workshop at the beautiful meditation center Lotos-Vihara a little oasis in the center of Berlin!

Suitable for those who are new to Mindful Music or who have been on one of our retreats already and want to deepen their experience.

“Two days of no tension/meditation, of love and research to understand myself better and improve my violin playing in a totally different way of the one we learn in the music academies, a new way to experiment and express music.”

— Cecilia

Mathew Barley

Matthew Barley’s musical world has no geographical, social or stylistic boundaries.  His activities in performance, improvisation, cross-disciplinary projects, composition, and pioneering community programmes have developed to form a uniquely eclectic international career.  He has been described as ‘the world’s most adventurous cellist’ and is as comfortable with core-classical repertoire and improvisation as he is in a night-club or the Amazon rainforest.
